An annual event that features performances by talented young musicians of Oak Ridge and the surrounding area.
The 2017 Ralph Einstein Hadassah's Youth Aliyah concert will be held

Concert and audiotion will take place at First United Methodist Church, 1350 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, TN

Auditions will take place on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Audition judges will select students that will perform in the annual Youth Aliyah concert. In addition highest scoring points students will be recognized in each age group.

On-line applications will be taken through February 23, 2017.

Performers usually range in age from 4 to 18 and perform a varied program of music by J.S.Bach, Bela Bartok, Melody Bober, Carol Bohm, Frédéric François Chopin, Muzio Clementi, Claude Debussy, Anton Diabelli, J.H.Fiocco, George Gershwin, and more.

Edgar Meyer, a native Oak Ridger, and the world renowned bassist and composer was a regular performer at the Youth Aliyah concerts in the past. He is joined by many other past participants who became professional musicians.

Youth Aliyah is a program of the international philanthropic organization Hadassah. The local chapter sponsors this concert each year to raise money to benefit Jewish children worldwide.
Youth Aliyah helps move Jewish children to Israel from countries where their lives are threatened by disease, famine, political upheaval and other circumstances. In Israel these children receive psychological testing and treatment, agricultural and vocational training, and secondary education to prepare them for college. These children receive the benefits of a full educational, recreational and cultural program.
